What we do in Pune

We help Pune professionals and families bring disconnected financial decisions into one documented plan. The engagement begins with your income, expenses, assets, liabilities, insurance, existing investments, and future goals. Recommendations are then prioritised based on what requires immediate action and what can be addressed over time.

Investment recommendations are based on your goals, time horizon, liquidity needs, existing portfolio, and risk profile. Where a separately regulated investment product or service is considered, its role, charges, and risks are explained before any decision is made.

Depending on the engagement, ongoing reviews may be scheduled to account for changes in income, family responsibilities, taxation, markets, and major decisions such as purchasing a home, changing careers, or approaching retirement.

A pattern we see often: Earning well above average, EPF in order, but no term cover, under-insured health, and nothing invested outside salaried savings. This is where many conversations start. Within one plan: insurance gaps closed, SIP started, tax regime modelled, and a roadmap documented.

FAQs

1. Do I need to visit an office?

3. How do fees work?

4. Should I choose the old or new tax regime as an IT professional in Pune?

From FY 2026-27, Pune qualifies as a metro city, raising the HRA exemption to 50% of basic salary. The old regime suits employees with high HRA, home loan interest, and 80C investments; the new regime suits those with fewer deductions. Declare your choice by July 31 or the new regime applies by default. A SEBI-registered advisor can model both against your actual salary data.

5. How does ESOP and RSU taxation work for Pune’s IT and startup employees?

ESOPs and RSUs are taxed at two points: at exercise, the fair-market-value gain is taxed as a perquisite (non-cash employment benefit counted as salary income) at your slab (up to 42.7% for senior employees); at sale, capital gains tax applies. Employees of DPIIT-recognised startups can defer the exercise tax under Sec 192(1C), though fewer than 5.8% use this (Patron Accounting / DPIIT data, 2025). Timing both events around a planned strategy can cut your total tax bill meaningfully.

6. How do I verify that a financial advisor in Pune is SEBI-registered?

Search the SEBI intermediaries list at sebi.gov.in under Investment Advisers. A registered RIA must follow a fiduciary standard and cannot earn commissions on products they recommend. Finnovate’s SEBI RIA number is INA000013518, registered since June 2019. Unregistered advisors have no legal obligation to act in your interest. SEBI registration is only the first check. Use this step-by-step guide to choosing a financial advisor in India to also compare fees, experience, conflicts, deliverables and complaint processes.

7. Is a financial advisor worth hiring in Pune if I earn ₹10–15 LPA?

Yes, often more so than at higher income levels. At ₹10–15 LPA in Pune, early decisions on tax regime, insurance, SIPs, and rent vs. buy compound over decades and are costly to undo. A SEBI-registered fee-only advisor charges a flat fee or an AUM-based fee (a percentage of your portfolio value charged annually) with no commissions, and the advice typically pays for itself through tax savings in year one.
